College Party February 2, 2010

I can’t really remember the start of this dream but the earliest bit I remember is a group of us were all in what was supposedly Jenny’s apartment getting ready to go out. It was some college night out or ball or something.
She was getting changed in the next room and I was looking out her window. It was a really narrow window and had a horrible view. We all said that the place smelled kind of damp or something. I tried to open the window but it wasn’t the kind of window that opened. We all felt sorry for Jenny to live in such a small cramped place. Then she was ready and we were heading out. You had to wear a hat to wherever we were going so I picked up a white fedora with a black ribbon that Jenny had lying around.
Then the dream skips a bit and I was visiting my uncle on my way to college. His house was laid out really weird because you could enter his downstairs and there was a doorbell at the foot of the stairs. I rang the doorbell and told him who I was. He came downstairs and was surprised to see me.
I told him my dad had asked me to drop off two books to him. I had read one of them and I told him it was one continuous story but the way the chapters were written it felt almost like a book of short stories. He asked me did I want to stay but I said I had to leave now or I’d be late for college as I had to walk from his house to the college.
It was very much an uneventful dream but there it is.

Okay these are three really short dreams that I had and it didn’t seem worth it to post them all seperately.
The first one consisted of my friends and I being back in school. We were in our school uniforms and in my old English classroom. Joanne was wearing a red lacy bra over her school jumper because she said it was so nice she wanted everyone to see it. This didn’t seem like an odd thing to do in the dream, everyone was just like, “That is a really nice bra”.
The second dream I can only remember the end of. I was supposedly in my aunt and uncle’s house but it looked like my house. My little cousin who was about 10 (and who doesn’t exist in real life) didn’t want me to go back home. He said he had so much fun playing with me that I was never allowed leave. I told him that I had to go back home because people were missing me there too and I’d come visit him again soon.
The final dream was set on the beach but people were supposed to be going bowling. There was a girl there who was meant to be my friend but who I’ve never seen before in my life. I put my hand into the sea and it was freezing. My friend asked me how cold it was and I answered by putting my hand against her arm. She screamed at how cold it was and then dived into the sea. All of us still on the beach thought she was crazy.
That’s it for my dreams of the past few nights. Nothing much going on there really.

Chris and I were in Manchester but he had to go somewhere for the day so I was wandering around the place myself. It didn’t look anything like Manchester does in real life. Someone asked me did I know how to get to Old Trafford. I told them we were actually standing across the road from it and it was the door that was painted red and the door beside it led to one of the shopping centres.
Suddenly it was getting dark and I realised I was hungry. I didn’t know what time Chris would be back and I was trying to decide whether to wait for him or to go get pizza. I had wandered down to the docks (I’m aware Manchester isn’t really by the sea) and I wasn’t sure how to get to my favourite pizza restaurant from there.
Then, out of nowhere, Chris appeared. He was asking me what I was doing down at the docks and I said I had just kind of ended up here. I was going to go for pizza but I wasn’t sure of the way and it was getting dark so I was just about to go home. I asked him if he’d eaten and he said that he’d gotten subway. I was like, “Ugh so I could’ve gone for food ages ago”. Chris said that he knew the way to the restaurant though so we’d go for pizza anyway.
Then the dream changed entirely and I was working in some kind of office where I had to compose tunes. I’m not sure what the tunes were to be used for but it might have been advertisements. I had come up with a tune earlier but had forgotten to write it down. My deadline was the end of the day and I knew I had to come up with something.
I bumped into a guy I know from work on the stairs and we got talking about trying to compose our tunes. He said something that clicked in my head and made me remember my tune! It was called artificially hoping or fake hope or something like that. I remembered that I’d somehow made the beat from two fans in my office that clicked at different times. I ran back down the stairs to write it down while it was still in my head.
Having made my deadline I decided it was time for a snack (a very food orientated dream!) so I went to the food storeroom to get some sauce to put on the bag of pasta I had brought with me. The storeroom was really cold and a bit damp. I found the jar of sauce I wanted but every time I went to grab it, a drop of really cold condensation fell on my hand and caused me to withdraw my arm.
I tried looking around for another jar of it but I couldn’t find any. Then I couldn’t even find the original jar anywhere. Two guys came into the storeroom looking for something and they couldn’t find what they wanted either. It was really weird and eventually we all gave up.
I wasn’t even that hungry when I woke up despite dreaming about so much food! I do want pizza though…

Tidal Wave Magic January 18, 2010

I was in a house near a beach and we’d been hit by a tidal wave recently. We had decided to put protections in place to stop it from happening again but they weren’t physical protections, they were more like magical ones. I don’t know who else was there but we were in the bedroom that looked out onto the beach. We could see another tidal wave coming but we weren’t worried. Suddenly it crashed into the house and we could feel the entire house shaking. It somehow didn’t break the window though but we could see the water and debris rushing past.
There were loads of people staying in the house, I think there was a party going on. We asked a tidal wave protection expert to come over and tell us why we still got hit by it. When he was finished looking around he said that we had applied the right protection but it had been sabotaged. “Bowser or that shifty looking bear!” I thought. But the expert said that it would have to have been someone who people trusted. The protection had been broken because this person had gone around when everyone was asleep and cut their fingernails. I looked down at my hands and realised my nails were really short!
Peter was having his birthday party in the house the next night. Chris was also staying over but because he didn’t really know the people Peter had invited he had gone to bed (for some reason he was sleeping under the table in the next room to the party). I had said I’d stay at Peter’s party for a while but when I realised that one of them was the saboteur I didn’t feel comfortable there any longer (I have no idea how I knew this). I went into the next room to tell Chris about my realisation and noticed the Christmas decorations were still up. Chris asked me what I was going to do about the person trying to sabotage the house and I said I didn’t know.
There was more to the dream than just this, I vaguely remember walking after someone who was driving a red car but I don’t know when or how that fits in with the rest of the dream.

I was going somewhere, I’m not sure where, with my parents and my cousin (who doesn’t even live anywhere near me). We were walking down my road but I thought we weren’t leaving yet so I hadn’t brought my coat. My dad said that if we didn’t hurry we’d miss our bus. I said I just had to run back and grab my coat. My cousin said she’d go with me and we’d only be two minutes.
We started running down my road but I was wearing pink heels and I couldn’t run very well in them. I somehow started running in circles rather than falling over as you’d expect. I bumped into a car and managed to point myself in the right direction. As I was running, I tried texting Rebecca that I was getting dizzy but it came up as, “I’mn gettinf dizzxy”. I hit send before I had a chance to correct it but I figured she’d understand.
When we got to my house, I got the alarm code wrong and it started going off. I turned it off pretty quickly then. I went into the kitchen and there were two really old people doing the washing up. It was like they were meant to be my grandparents but they didn’t look like any of my grandparents and they’re all dead anyway. The “grandparents” disappeared from the dream then and Fergal came downstairs. By this point my parents had come back to the house to see what was taking so long.
Fergal was saying the bridge by the local train station had collapsed so him and his girlfriend had to cancel their plans for the day. I asked could they walk there instead and he pointed at a printout he had which contained a picture of the train station and said that even the path looked pretty icy. The weird thing was that it was totally sunny outside and not icy at all. No one else seemed to notice this though so I didn’t say anything about it.
Kind of a boring dream but with the weather as bad as it’s been, dreaming about paths being icy isn’t that surprising.

Carpark Classroom December 13, 2009

I was supposedly back in school but my classroom was the carpark of the local shops. It was meant to be indoors even though it was a carpark and I didn’t see any walls or ceiling. I was sitting beside Chris (who was never in my school) and our teacher started talking to us.
He was really funny in a sarcastic kind of way and he started slagging the school. Then a voice came over the intercom saying, “Thank you for that, Mr. [can't remember his name]. We’ll take it from here”. He smiled and bowed sarcastically and went to sit down at his desk.
The intercom announced that they were holding a competition and the prize was a pair of tickets. They didn’t say what the tickets were for but everyone got really excited. The winner would be decided by having a “write what you see” event. No one knew how you won; whether you had to write down the most number of things, the leas number of things, the colours of things, a certain object. We only had two minutes to complete it so there was no time to stop and think.
I decided to write down everything I could see. My list said: carpark, cars, shop, chipper, gates, poster, sign, RED sign…and then I got stuck. I just couldn’t think what to write even though everything was right in front of me! I don’t know the outcome of the competition because that was when I woke up.
Try naming everything you see sometime in two minutes, it’s harder than it seems.
